Even before our current state of isolation and uncertainty, Kendall Furrow was using mcrcsms as a tool for peace of mind. These five songs are comprised of gentle melodies that forgo any sense of grandiosity or urgency. There's a restraint present even beyond that which was heard on 2017's double album Aphilixal // Ebsthesi. If there was ever house music written to lull a baby to sleep, it might sound something like this!

Rivertowns and Waterfalls displays a clear affinity for water. Yet if water is the album's theme, then it's safe to say these songs showcase its softer side. These aren't crashing tides or roaring currents; instead, these songs embody the stillness of a lake, the glistening morning dew, or a delicate drop of rain. Tender, nurturing, and peaceful.

During production the album came to an unexpected halt—despite plans to flesh it out with ambient interludes and additional material—with the death of the computer being used to write the songs. In a last ditch effort, Kendall was able to export these five tracks and, much to his delight (and ours!), they were saved!

Kendall adds that it "feels like releasing these songs during such a chaotic time might bring a moment of peace to anyone who finds them." Despite everything, we hope these tracks will offer you a moment of respite.
